This summer’s newsletter featured the pilot of our program adaptation for distance learning: On Screen. Since then, over 400 students in 28 cohorts have met the SPIRIT SERIES challenge on Zoom. Our thanks to the partner educators in greater Los Angeles who have been early adopters of the program online this year: Paul Revere MS, Fairburn ES, Broadway ES, Antonio Maria Lugo Aspire Academy and Hancock Park ES. As sixth grade humanities teacher, Jon Hyman, concluded: “In the many years I have partnered with SPIRIT SERIES, this On Screen experience has had the most profound impact on students, providing them community in their isolation, immersing them in the big questions of life, and allowing each student to meet a true test of character in this most challenging time. Bravo!”
